Ulysses preferred a pipe which took its shape from Grecian galleys, with a graceful, pointed bow. He named his favorite pipe Argo, after the ship which carried the Grecian heroes on the distant journey to fetch the Golden Fleece.
To correct the ordinary accounts, we must understand that the Golden Fleece was not used to further Jason's amorous dallyings but was a superb material for polishing Grecian pipe bowls.
