Peck's Skipper Polites peckius | Aug. 21, 2016 |

In the four years since I first encountered a Peck's skipper (Polites peckius), I've photographed such skippers any number of times. Therefore, I thought it was time to present the Peck's skipper in all its glory (rather than having a single image on this page). It is a particularly beautiful skipper.

| As a Peck's skipper ages, its colors become darker. Or so it seems. On the other hand, a darker Peck's skipper is also associated with its being a male. |

Peck's skippers are always fun to come across, but given their color variety, they can be a challenge to ID properly.
