Soft Magnolia Blossoms3 May 2009

Every spring I promise myself to remember to photograph the blossoms on the nearby magnolia tree in Cooper's Pond. For once, I didn't forget, but it was close. The following day a rainstorm demolished almost every blossom, but here they are in all their glory.

While an individual magnolia blossom is beautiful unto itself, I believe that grouped together the blossoms are glorious.

I also enjoy the dreamy atmosphere created by a soft focus lens.

Photo note: I used a Pentax K200D, with the SMC 85mm soft focus lens for these photos, taken on 27 April 2009.
