The eastern red squirrel is the acrobat of the squirrel world, and, photographically speaking, I have the advantage of a nearby tree opposite my living room (in State College, Pennsylvania) sliding doors to have a good view of red activities. (This also happens to be my test for adding photos to a post as well as working out the miracle of the “read more” button.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

My first photo catches the sheer exuberance of a red enjoying a corncob. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note his right foot dangling in the air! That is both grace, power, and fearlessness, which is what red squirrels are all about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the photo above, he is relaxing a little more but is as dynamic as ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
