Dewdrops
on a Spiderweb
September 2003

Some spiders prefer their webs across grass, rather than hanging suspended. Ground webs are excellent for collecting dewdrops, sometimes quite fine and other times fair-sized drops. The following web has larger drops.

Seen closer, these dewdrops are refracting light, reflecting light, or both.
