Summer Butterflies

The world remains in a dreadful mess or is becoming worse. Inasmuch as I can do nothing about that, here instead is something of beauty: large butterflies from the summer this year.

First is a a tiger swallowtail.

Then there is a spicebush swallowtail (different from a black swallowtail or a pipeline swallowtail).

Finally, here is one of the few monarchs who visited this summer.

I had this pretty much ready last weekend, but I had become caught up in watching all the news that distressingly came along. But however long the world and butterflies and I exist, I’ll continue photographing them.
