Personally, with all the horror of the present world, particularly the devastation in Gaza and the West Bank, I find it difficult to concentrate; however, a walk outdoors during spring returns a certain amount of joy (and I wish that such a walk would be available to everyone). To begin, what indicates spring more than anything else is bird song. (I’ve delayed this post for ages, but I’m determined to have a voice again.)
Catbirds (along with brown thrashers and mockingbirds) are noted songsters. And here is the first serenading spring.

A red squirrel busy gathering.

Good jump!

A duskywing butterfly.

An ever pretty pearl crescent (another small butterfly).

The snapping turtles come out of hibernation and enjoy basking in the sun.

And that was my walk, in the spring, seemingly long ago now that we’re approaching the end of summer.
